Who are we?

We’re Jaime Brown and Erica Reisman based in the Boston area. We are both wine professionals who met while studying the WSET 2. In fall 2023, Jaime approached Erica with an idea for a project which would eventually become this Substack. But first, let us introduce ourselves…

Jaime Brown

Jaime is a mom, wife and serial entrepreneur who studied Interior Design and Visual Communications. Her passion for creativity, digital marketing and innovation led her to co-found lipstick brand Swedish Jealousy in 2019, which was the catalyst for her blog Lipstick and Rosay during the height of the pandemic. Her rosé obsession opened the door to wanting to learn more about the famed pink drink (as well as letting others know that “Rose Can Be Enjoyed All Year”, which eventually led to her creating rosé wine education content and contributing to magazines like Food & Wine. Pretty soon after that, she found herself as a Digital Editor at Wine Enthusiast Magazine and applied for the Women of The Vine & Spirits scholarship — and won, allowing her to obtain her WSET 2. Today, you can find her continuing to spread the word about her love for rosé.

Erica Reisman

Erica studied Applied Math and Economics in college, and after a few economics and finance-related jobs, slowly started moving over to the food and wine space. She got her masters degree in Agroecology in Norway and then worked in local food systems in Stockholm. In 2019 she returned to the US and got into cheese. During the pandemic, she started reading about wine as a proxy for travel during, happily free-falling down the rabbit hole. (The book that started it all? Aldo Sohm’s Wine Simple.) After a few one-off wine classes at the local wine school, she signed up for the WSET 2 and then the WSET 3 before officially making the leap to wine by working at Bonde Fine Wine Shop in Cambridge, MA, a boutique wine shop specializing in eco-responsible American wines.
